What is the Construction Supplier Register project limit?

Land Remediation Contractor
Licenced Asbestos Removal Contractor

Question 3

Are permits required for Demolition projects?

Accepted Answer

Permits are required for demolition projects. We can apply for a permit on your behalf and the cost will be included on your quote and/or invoice.

Question 4

Who is responsible for abolishing utilities prior to demolition?

Accepted Answer

It is the responsibility of the owner to arrange abolishment of utilities (gas and electricity) prior to demolition works commencing. We can provide guidance if required.

Do you provide quotes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In addition to site visits, we are often able to provide a quote from plans and/or photographs for smaller, less complex projects. Quotes are valid for 60 days.

Do you have EPA Permissions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In addition to EPA permits for our vehicles, we hold a range of EPA Permissions to accept and store asbestos, demolition waste and prescribed waste at our depots prior to consolidated transport to licenced disposal facilities.

How do l confirm asbestos?

An asbestos removal team member can do a site visit to inspect or you are welcome to drop a bagged sample to our office at 3 Hammond Place, Warrnambool for inspection. Often our experienced team members can provide an answer on the spot, but in some cases we do need to send the sample off for testing to an NATA Accredited Laboratory. Fees applied for sample testing.

What class of Asbestos licence do you hold?

Murrihy Demolitions holds an unlimited WorkSafe Class A and Class B Asbestos Removal Licence.

What other types of prescribed activities can you assist with?

Accepted Answer

Murrihy Demolitions can assist with a variety of prescribed waste projects including contaminated soil removal and disposal to licenced disposal facilities.

Do you provide clearance certificates following asbestos removal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Murrihy Demolitions engages an accredited person as defined in the OH&S Regulations 2017 to inspect asbestos removal works and provide a clearance certificate.

Do you provide Occupational Hygiene Services to ensure compliance and enhance worker safety?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All Class A removal projects require an occupational hygienist to be present on site and air quality monitoring is also undertaken.
